The Hamilton Service Award was established in 2010 in memory of Merle Hamilton, a dear friend of Dr. Kassebaum and one of the original board members of her memorial scholarship program. Recipients of the Hamilton Service Award are selected due to their years of Christian call to selfless service at Mater Dei/Marian Catholic High School or in the San Diego Community.
In a recent interview, Steven Boudreau, Esq., Scholarship Chairman Emeritus, remarked, “The Hamiltons are an outstanding example of unselfish love in action. Merle and Marie have shared their treasure, their wisdom and their skills quietly and effectively for the benefit of Mater Dei with no expectation of praise or recompense.”
